Chronologically, Sonny picks up where 35 Cents left off. Not the story of a particular person, place, or thing; it is rather the story of a space in time. More precisely, Miami Beach in the nineteen eighties. It's the story of South Beach, before all the models, clubs, and ocean front cafes.
Sonny is the story of a handful of people who witnessed the rebirth of a city. Some survived and even prospered, while others fell through the cracks. Sonny is their story.
